5th Do Over Wrap Up

There were so many fantastic designs created for the 5th Do Over Challenge .  I didn't see a design I didn't like in some way.  So many designs and so many more ideas to incorporate into my own designs.  Thank you Jeannie for a creative and inspiring challenge! There was only one blog I could not get to and that was for Mowse Doyle.  Apparently blogger said I had to be invited to view their blog.  I can say I never had that happen before.   I used what I had leftover and made a simple bracelet above.

5th Do Over Challenge Reveal!

Jeannie K. Dukic sent each participant an old, tried, boring piece of my jewelry for  free  and you will work your magic and turn it into something beautiful and amazing.  T he jewelry she sent out for this challenge are designs made when she was new to jewelry-making and won’t sell.   Well she could, but she believes no one would buy them.  This is NOT jewelry currently listed on her website!  There will be no art beads of any kind in what you receive, and i t will not be in any fancy packaging when you receive it. Yeah....no fancy packaging here. There is no guarantee that participants will even like the jewelry they receive for this challenge.  Remember, this is just a challenge and the goal is to have fun with the jewelry make-over!  Here is what I received: A gold chain with crystals, and gemstones and earrings to match.  The owl charm was part of the "nothing fancy" packaging.  I can't say that I liked the necklace, but that is because I don't use past

HBBH 3.5: A Very Merry Unbirthday Party!

Marlene and Shelley just couldn't wait for HBBH4, so they slipped in another blog party swap and hop!  A Very Merry Unbirthday!  Paired up with partners we were to exchange bling in our partner's birthstone color(s).  My partner for this party is Ali McCarthy, Northwoods Creative Studio .  My birthday month is February and my birthstone is amethyst.  Ali made this fantastic kumihimo necklace featuring a gorgeous focal lampwork that she made! This necklace reminds me of...February winters.  So cozy and warm.  It goes great with my sweaters.  Thank you Ali. Here is what I sent to Ali...Uh oh.  In my haste to send Ali's unbirthday gift, I forgot to take a picture.  Well, she is first up on the party list, so visit her blog to see pictures.  Ali also has an Etsy shop ! Art Bead Scene: April 2013 Challenge Inspiration--Painting by Claude Monet

Walk in The Meadows at Argenteuil, 1873 Claude Monet Oil on Canvas, 54.5cm x 64.5cm Private Collection Monet is one of my favorite artists.  His art made an  impression  on me during my college years.  I most admire the fact that he continued to paint as his eyesight was failing.  You can see his art progress from clear impressionist expression and light colors to darker, blurred and use of brighter colors.  Especially seen in his garden series.  Simply amazing. This month's Art Bead Scene challenge pallet is full of wonderful spring-like colors.  It was hard to chose just a few to work with.  However, I went through my bead stash and found a wonderful focal bead by Alexandra95062 .  She sells her beads (Ebay) in sets and none of them are the same color.  The bead I chose looks like someone swirled their fingers through the wet paint of challenge colors!  I just added a spiral rope using some bead soup which had all of the pallet colors.  How cool is that?
